As arenas reopened after the lockdowns, the LA Kings needed an impactful and visually engaging piece to drive arena attendance. I conceptualized this tiny planet effect to give the arena a larger than life feel.
BREAKDOWN
PROCESS:
To refresh the LA Kings 2021-22 "No Crown Too Heavy" marketing campaign, I was tasked to carry that message through arena footage.
In After Effects. I built tiny planet effects to tie in the community of LA with the community of Kings games.
From there, I pieced the visuals together with sound design and overall color correction.
This campaign lasted through the postseason, with arena and social content that utilized this visual motif.

RESULTS:
Retweeted by NHL account, which greatly extended visibility.
Arena attendance hit record numbers while the campaign ran, as fans flooded back to the arena.
